Official Opening of the ACRF Centenary cancer research centre
5th April 2016The Australian Cancer Research Foundation Centenary Cancer Research Centre will be led by Professor Philip Hogg, a world-recognised expert in this field, especially in the discovery of new cancer therapeutics. Indeed, the other members of the Centre also are developing new cancer therapeutics, and with Professor Hogg’s leadership, innovation in drug development will be a chief focus.
The Centre is located within the University of Sydney’s Charles Perkins Centre and will be the first dedicated cancer biology research centre in the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and the University of Sydney precinct.
“My goal is to understand how cancer initiation and development is driven by sugar metabolism and to devise therapeutics that interrupt this process.”
Prof Philip Hogg,
Director, ACRF Centenary Cancer Research Centre
