Aaron’s Wish 2015

11th July 2015 saw Aaron’s Wish Charity Dinner dazzle and sparkle at the Celebrity Room, Dural Country Club. It was also the beginning of embracing Carrie Bickmore’s emotional plea to make beanies a symbol of Brain Cancer. We posted a request for some handmade woollen beanies in May and were overwhelmed to receive the most beautiful, unique beanies, all made with love, from all parts of Australia. #beaniesforbraincancer was incorporated in our Aaron’s Wish Charity Dinner for this year and will be an ongoing part of our event.

“Mario Lasagne”’ the singing Chef, and his “Manager” had everyone engrossed and involved with their magnificent voices and interaction. A fabulous show enjoyed by all guests as they dined on a superb meal created and prepared by Andrea Burgio, Martin Dulke, Chris and his team from DCC with Wayne and his team from Baulkham Hills TAFE.

A very moving speech from Jim Wilson recalling the devastating news of his beautiful youngest son, Sam’s Brain Cancer diagnosis and personal journey, had an enormous impact on all guests in the room. As the Director of the Cancer Programs Division, Cancer Council, Kathy Chapman was able to give an insight into how Cancer Council values and utilises the funds raised.

Everything about our night was incredible, with an elegance and spirit being created beyond our wildest expectations. This is made possible by the ever generous supporters, enthusiastic volunteers and amazing guests who continue to support our mission to raise awareness of Brain Cancer and as a result $53,576 was given to the Cancer Council NSW for Brain Cancer research.
